One of the key challenges facing medical managers in the current NHS is leading change in a complex organisation. It is inevitable, in an organisation as large, diverse, and ever changing as the NHS, that one area of particular concern is how to deal with ‘difficult’ colleagues. It is every clinical leaders fear that the opposition or obstruction of ‘difficult’ colleagues will stymie effective change – change that will ultimately benefit patients.
Therefore, this programme will utilise attendee’s real experiences, allowing them to understand not just the theory behind conflict resolution, but also how to implement that theory in relevant real world examples. With a maximum of 16 attendees, the content and programme will be geared to meeting the practical challenges attendees are facing in their day-to-day work, enabling the training to provide real answers to real problems.
Allowing attendees to take away the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to deal effectively with their key problems, it will aim to ensure that effective change happens. This seminar is relevant to individuals at all levels who are experiencing challenging behaviour in their organisations, whether it be through leading extensive programmes of change, or those just wishing to improve team-working and the delivery of the service they provide.
The sessions will be run by Breda Flaherty & Peter Mumford, who have extensive experience in delivering leadership and change management training to medical leaders.
