This module is designed for local responsible officers, deputies and those aspiring to these roles. it sets out the context for the job, the relationships of the RO, outlines the legal framework supporting it, and discusses the structures and processes that should be set up inside every organisation to support it.

This module will be offered as a full day BAMM Conference title, running in a limited number of locations throughout the country from Spring 2009 onwards as well as an in-house workshop. It will provide those anticipating taking on the responsible officer roles and those involved in supporting functions - clinical directors, appraisers, HR professionals and other management colleagues involved in setting up these new roles. Details of conferences will be available here on the website and via the BAMM Office.

The module can also be delivered in-house as part of a Trust's training package, where it would be useful for medical managers at all levels, along with human resources practitioners, to develop a better understanding of how revalidation will be managed in the organisation. The module can be tailored to meet the specifica needs of the Trust, and can be delivered in partnership with Trust managers. Whilst designed as a Full Day session, this module can be packaged into two Half Days. Ideal maximum numbers for an in-house module are 20.
